Notably, Abhishek Banerjee evaded CID summons not just once or twice but three times regarding the signature forgery case. Having skipped these appearances, he remained occupied with the INDIA block meetings in Delhi. He has repeatedly avoided cooperating with officials in the crucial investigation.
Also, Abhishek has moved the Calcutta High Court seeking legal protection in connection with the signature forgery case; consequently, his fate currently hangs in the balance at the High Court.
The CID had issued three notices to question Abhishek, yet he evaded them. The agency is seeking a copy of the meeting resolution related to the signature forgery investigation.
For this reason, the CID visited Kalighat on Tuesday and searched the TMC office located next to Mamata’s residence. However, sources stated that nothing was found there.
According to sources, Abhishek will have to appear before the CID immediately upon his return from Delhi.
